From 14 May 2025 letting agencies are required by HMRC to conduct Anti-Money Laundering sanctions checks on all parties included within their tenancy agreement, so this is landlords, tenants and guarantors.

We already have an existing framwork for sales but as an agency we have had to reconfigure how we do things and have seamlessly implemented AML and Sanctions checks into our referencing process for tenants and gaurantors. Landlords will now be contacted separately for this when required.

In addition we will also be maintaining continuous monitoring to ensure ongoing compliance.

For these addtional compliance services we will be introducing a monthly fee of £6 (inc. VAT) per month on each new tenancy, and from 1st October 2025 on all existing tenancies.
