In Bournemouth average gross rental yields are around 5-6%, and we are seeing some at much higher than that due to higher rents. This compares favourably to average fixed rate ISAs and bonds of around 4%, and with rental values and increases it has meant that your property may have kept pace or even exceeded inflation which bank deposit yields do not.

So are the rental returns in Bournemouth still worth it?
Well this will be a personal judgement - rents currently are still high, is the gap between investment and return is perhaps not as good as it used to be but property investment can when managed well still see good returns and remains a tried and tested long term model.
